I have alot to write, many thoughts that need to be loosed, but a happy post first, one that is freshest.

People ask me, "How is Georgia?"  Where do I start with that?  I'll comment on my afternoon.

The mornings here in Columbus have gotten a bit cold here, but the afternoons/evenings are close to perfect. Today, after seeing Kaylin before she had to go to work, I went to one of the local parks in town.  They just recently put in a frisbee golf course, so I've been to Flat Rock Park about a dozen times now.  I know the course fairly well now, so getting to each tee and knowing the shot for each hole isn't nearly as difficult as a month ago. I drove into the park around 5:00 p.m., my car still sporting the aggressive "no bumper" look.  There were a few clouds in the sky, and the sun had begun it's decent into the horizon.  The mercury probably would have read 70 degrees or so; there was a slight breeze, and it was cool enough to enjoy being outside but warm enough for the breeze to feel good.  Most of the holes are in the woods, so the sun didn't play a big factor in most of my shots.  I tried a different approach on the second hole, which I've yet to figure out.  My second shot was in the open, but as usual, my approach was off, and I bogied the hole.  I played about average most of the round, but I had some memorable shots.  More than anything, it was just refreshing to get outside, feel the sun on my skin, and move.

I went to the gym yesterday to do some cardio, so my legs felt pretty fresh off of the 30 minutes on the elliptical the night before.  As I hit the halfway point in the course, I suddenly found myself running to my disc after throwing it.  I bounded down the shallow declines of the 10th hole, criss-crossing the numerous bike trails that share the park to my disc.  It seemed like hole after hole, I was running more and more, my legs unwilling to keep to the steady walking pace I was accustomed to.  By the 17th hole, I was sprinting up the trails to my where my disc lie, my drive landing just feet from the hole.

Oh, it just felt so good to be outside and run around.  I've yet to find any type of regular sporting activity with people my age, so the gym and frisbee golf have been my athletic outlet.  I felt like a kid just running around through the woods, momentarily leaving all the my stresses and responsibilities on the trails behind me.  Shortly after my disc clanged off the chains of the 18th tee, and I walked reluctantly back to my car.  The moment was over, but I took time to take it in before starting my car and heading home.

Luckily enough for me, there was a energetic husky waiting for something exciting to happen when I got there.  Round 2 of child-like behavior started as the sog and I took turns chasing each other...

I'll be in some trouble when I am too old for these antics, but until then, I'll enjoy every one of those moments I can
