I picked up my "Desiring God" book again. I'm on the "Love" chapter. I'll just jot a few things down as they pop out to me... I'll update it from day to day until I finish the chapter.
Day 1:
The motivation for love can never be our own happiness, unless simply loving others is the foundation of that happiness."Love cannot be equated with sacrificial action."
In response to the statement, "Love is what you do, not what you feel."
"Yes, love is more than feelings, but, no, love is not less than feelings."Day 2:
The ministry that does not feel the joy of glorifying the Lord and saving the souls of men is dead.
"It is more blessed to love than to live in luxury."
Love often involves some kind of self-denial and often demands suffering.
